Hi, my name is Mallory.  I have been playing violin for 21 years and teaching for 8 years.  I teach full time from my private music studio in Joondanna.

I completed my AMEB Grade 8 in Violin with Honours, have played in several orchestras, and participated in numerous competitions, etc.  My Suzuki Violin Teacher Training was first undertaken at the University of Guanajuato in Mexico, and finished here in Perth.

Lessons are always catered to the individual student’s goals, preferences, and needs. I teach mainly using Suzuki repertoire, however, unlike the traditional Suzuki approach I teach note reading early on, alongside ear training.

I also am very experienced preparing students for exams if they would rather go the AMEB route.

I focus on developing correct technique and efficient practice from the beginning.  Music theory, aural training, scale work, sight reading, and performance preparation are included in each lesson.

Students are expected to practice for the length of their lesson (usually 30 min), 5 times a week. I promise this will yield excellent progress!

Students of any age are welcome and encouraged. I teach individual lessons full time during the week and often run one small group weekend class.

There is always a much loved annual recital where students perform solo and as a group.

Lesson fees are $45 for a private 30 min lesson, $60/45 min, or $80/60 min. The 60 min weekend group classes are $10 per student (with a max capacity of 7 students). Tuition can be paid per lesson or per term.

I have a PhD from the Australian National University, a Working with Children Check card, and a  National Police Clearance.
