Vintage Violin French Circa 1870 VN 1441

$5,500.00

A French violin circa 1870 labelled Deconeti (Michel) Venice 1742. The wood of the one-piece back is reminiscent of early Italian violins and is complemented by a slightly arched top finished with a fine amber coloured oil varnish. This violin is modelled on a Strad pattern with hand drawn purfling and is probably of the Caussin School. Fitted with ‘Wittner Fine Tune’ pegs and Evah Pirazzi strings.

Description

This beautiful 1880s French violin bears the label of ‘Michele Deconeti’ and is most likely a copy of his popular Venetian-style output. The instrument details a finely grained table, a one-piece back with elegant antiquing, and an interesting and eye-catching scroll.
