Vintage German Violin Circa 1880 VN 1392

$2,500.00

A Bavarian Violin Circa 1850 with a Frankfurt based repairers label dated 1896. Evidence of old repairs can be seen but the instrument is in good, playable condition with dark brown oil varnish.

The scroll is neat and well formed with nicely cut volutes which show the hand of a good craftsman. This is a nice semi-professional instrument that would suit a player looking for a mid-nineteenth century European violin at a modest price.

This instrument has been fitted with ‘Wittner Fine Tune Pegs’ and Tonica Strings.
