We provide ongoing servicing and repair for brass and woodwind instruments, carried out by our expert in-house technicians. As a Yamaha Authorised Service Centre, our workshop is held to the standards set by Yamaha themselves.

A Yamaha Authorised Service Centre

WA Music is a Yamaha Authorised Service Centre — a recognition that our workshop and technicians meet the standards Yamaha sets for servicing and repair. It's reassurance that your instrument is in expert, accredited hands.

For you, that means:

  • Servicing and repairs carried out by technicians whose work is recognised by Yamaha
  • Warranty-eligible work handled in-house, keeping your Yamaha warranty intact
  • Direct access to genuine Yamaha parts and technical support, for faster and more accurate repairs

Will you service an instrument not bought at your shop, or bought at your shop by someone else?

Because of the size of our hire program and warranty commitments, our brass and woodwind workshop is reserved for instruments purchased or hired through WA Music. This allows us to provide faster turnaround times and ongoing support to our customers.

How long will servicing take?

The length of time may vary dependent on the extent of the work to be carried out and the time of year. February and March are the busiest times of year for servicing as the school year recommences. As servicing is time intensive, we cannot guarantee being able to service your instrument in this period.

In general, the service of an instrument will be completed within a week, however this is not always possible. Please allow for adequate time to service your instrument.

What is involved in a service?

Servicing costs are dependent on the instrument. If the instrument requires repair or more extensive work, there may be an additional charge. A basic service entails the following:

  • Stripping and cleaning of the instrument
  • Pressure testing (where applicable)
  • Regulation
  • Oiling of valves (where applicable)
  • Treatment of pads (where applicable)
