Stringed instrument servicing is available at WA Music for simple issues such as string replacement to more complex repair of damaged instruments.

How long will servicing take?
The length of time will vary dependent on the extent of the work to be carried out and the time of year. Simple issues such as replacement of strings may be able to be completed on the spot or within a few hours. Crack repairs and bridge fittings will take longer. We will give you an estimate on timing when you bring in your instrument for repair. Please note, that February and March are the busiest times of year for servicing as the school year recommences. As servicing is very labour and time intensive, we cannot guarantee being able to service your instrument at this time. We are happy to service an instrument bought elsewhere as long as it is not a warranty issue and providing the instrument is of a quality that allows ease of maintenance.
Will you service an instrument not bought at your shop, or bought at your shop by someone else?
We are happy to service a stringed instrument bought elsewhere as long as it is not a warranty issue and providing the instrument is of a quality that allows ease of maintenance.
Will you fit strings bought elsewhere?
We offer string fitting free of charge for customers who have bought strings through us. As this is a complementary service, it is reserved for our customers. As we can't guarantee the age or quality of strings bought elsewhere, and are not able to offer a warranty for any breakages that may incur in the fitting, we can only fit strings sold through WA Music.
I have an old/ second hand/ borrowed violin, can you tell me if it's worth servicing?
We can! We pride ourselves on providing reasonable and honest advice dependent on the situation each person is in and what the needs of the player are. We can provide options from the bare minimum of work to get your instrument up and running to providing servicing that will allow you to optimise the sound quality and your playing experience. Bring it in and speak to our service department and we will be happy to walk you through your options.* If there is a problem with the instrument after servicing, please notify the servicing department within 48 hours so that we can promptly address your concerns *
