All piano warranties are discussed at the time of purchase and a written warranty is provided with the sale of the piano.
This policy refers to any cases or bags, whether they are sold separately or are included in the sale of an instrument. Unless there is a warranty specified by the manufacturer of the product, the warranty on cases or bags is 6 months from the date of sale. The warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse or neglect. WA Music Co. will repair or replace parts of the case, or the case itself within the warranty period. WA Music Co. takes no responsibility, and is not liable for damage caused to any goods such as instruments or bows inside the case. Used cases sold separately, or sold in a package with a second-hand instrument are not covered under warranty.
Bow Warranty
Bow shafts that are faulty may be replaced or exchanged for a bow of equal value within a year of purchase providing that the following conditions have been met:
The bow has been kept wound down at all times other than whilst playing. (Failure to do so will result in a weakened or warped bow).
The bow has not sustained any knock or other damage, neglect or misuse that has caused it to weaken or break.
(The above applies only to the shaft of the bow and not to the bow hair.)
Original bow hair is considered a consumable part of the bow and will shed with time. There is a 6 month warranty on any bow hair that has been lost due to a manufacturing fault with the bow.
We are more than happy to advise at all times how you can take care of your bow to preserve the life of it.
Stringed Instrument Warranty
The following warranty applies to all new violins, violas, cellos, double basses and harps sold by WA Music Co.
There is a 3 year warranty on the body of the actual instrument. This warranty does not cover goods that have been damaged due to misuse or neglect.
The warranty does not cover the removable parts of the instrument: the bridge, pegs, strings, tailpiece and/or fine tuners. The removable parts of the instrument have a warranty of 12 months with the exception of strings.
There is no warranty on strings due to their ability to break quickly on being overtightened.
General Brass & Woodwind
New brass and woodwind instruments sold at WA Music Co. come with a standard 3 year warranty. This warranty does not cover accidental damage, misuse or neglect. Clearance items and second hand items carry their own warranties. Please refer to sales staff and your receipt at the time of purchase. This 3 year warranty covers manufacturer’s faults. It does not cover faults caused by usage that would otherwise be rectified through a yearly service. Whilst a service is not mandatory to your warranty, any fault found and fixed that is deemed to be caused due to lack of servicing will incur a charge.
