My name is Eliza and I teach harp and piano.
I have been playing piano since a very young age and competed in Eistedfodds throughout my childhood. These days, I occasionally perform private recitals on piano. I have been teaching piano for about two years.
I started harp in high school and continued studying this instrument at university. I have a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Music Studies & Specialist Music Studies from UWA (I graduated in 2015). I won numerous prizes and scholarships during my time at university.
I have experience as a performer in a very wide range of settings. I regularly perform as a soloist and chamber musician for private events. I perform with community orchestras as well as professional orchestras such as the Perth Chamber Orchestra. I performed for the FRINGE festival in 2018. I also perform solo recitals around Perth.
I am flexible with the content and style of lessons depending on the student’s age and goals. Although classically trained, I play and teach a lot of music by ear, and am comfortable teaching contemporary/pop repertoire as well as classical.
I can prepare students for ABRSM exams.
Lessons may include some theory and aural training.
I only teach individual lessons. Depending on age of student and level, lessons can be as short as 30mins or as long as 1h.
I have a WWC and a National Police Certificate.
