Description
This recently serviced John Packer 181MKII oboe has been play tested by our resident double-reed expert and is ready for a new home! This oboe is a thumb plate model rather than a conservatoire and would be best suited for a player familiar with the English school of playing or someone learning under a thumb pate-player oboe teacher.
This JP181 oboe is a very popular model of student oboe and comes highly recommended by Max Spiers of the Royal Ballet Sinfonia. It features a lightweight resin body, a strong silver plated keywork with plateau keys which enables a more natural hand position, and includes a left hand ‘F’, a third octave key, low Bb resonance key, and an adjustable thumb rest to accommodate most hand sizes.
